1. Information we process

Heartopia Hub processes information needed to provide accounts and community features. When you register or use OAuth, this can include your email address, an internal service identifier, and display name.

Posts, comments, map pins, profile images, and profile text that you submit are stored so they can be displayed and managed. Anonymous voting and abuse prevention may use a hashed network identifier rather than exposing the underlying network information.

• Account data: email address, service user ID, and display name
• Optional profile data: avatar, biography, preferred language, and server
• Usage data: access logs, browser information, page paths, cookies, and session identifiers
• Submitted data: posts, comments, map reports, and uploaded images

2. Purposes and retention

We use information to maintain sessions, publish user content, prevent spam and abuse, investigate reports, keep the service reliable, and improve usability. Account data is deleted or anonymized when an account is deleted, except where limited retention is required for legal obligations or dispute handling.

Anonymous or aggregated usage statistics may be retained for longer when they cannot identify an individual. Public contributions may remain after account deletion with author identifiers removed.

3. Service providers

The following providers may process information under their own terms and privacy policies as part of operating this service.

• Supabase: authentication, database, and file storage
• Vercel: hosting, security, performance measurement, and aggregate analytics
• Google Identity Services: Google sign-in when selected by the user
• Google AdSense: advertising on approved and advertising-enabled pages

4. Google advertising and advertising cookies

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve advertising based on visits to this site and other sites on the Internet.

Users can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. Users can also visit aboutads.info to opt out of some third-party vendors' uses of cookies for personalized advertising. Heartopia Hub limits AdSense requests to selected content-rich pages and does not request AdSense ads on community, account, legal, or individual database-record pages.

Essential cookies or local storage may be used for sign-in, security, language and theme preferences, and service state. In regions where choices are legally required for advertising or analytics, applicable consent procedures and Google's privacy messaging settings are used.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser, but doing so may prevent sign-in, voting, or preference storage from working correctly.

6. Your rights and security

You may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal information. Use account settings where available and submit additional requests through the contact page.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no Internet transmission or electronic storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. The service is not directed to children under 13 or children who cannot lawfully use it in their jurisdiction.
